I was curious about how people are feeling about their health (other than their weight loss) from this diet. I've seen a few people mention blood pressure and heart rate.

I've had some very dramatic changes. (I've lost 25 pounds in 6 weeks - I still have 50 pounds to go).
- my knees haven't felt this good in years. So much easier to go down stairs or get up off the floor or out of a low chair
- my reflux is gone and I'm off Prilosec, although I still have to take Tums to neutralize stomach acidity
- my sleep is much better, and I'm going to bed earlier and getting up earlier.
- even though I'm not eating much, I'm having fewer cravings than when I ate a lot

On the negative side (all mental stuff)
- it takes awhile to get used to the hunger, although now I don't think about it.
- sometimes I still feel a little faint, and I'm nervous about working out on so few calories
- my friends keep telling me that it can't be healthy to be losing weight so quickly.

I was just wondering if there is anybody like me that only need to lose 20 lbs? I have just started this program and was hoping to lose weight in about 2 months but not sure if it works that quick for me.

Actually, there was a medical study done (I believe it was at Brown U) that proved losing weight quickly was better for the body than slowly. Of course, society tells us that is not the case, so everyone believes it.

When I began the diet in May 2008....in the first 30 days:

I was off ranitidine for acid reflux
no more allergies that I have suffered from my entire life (no more daily pill)
my cholesterol dropped 110 points
no more arthritis in my knees

I am currently 10 lbs more than the day I got married and a size smaller.
My doctors tell me I'm in better shape than I ever have been. I go back once or twice a year for a 30 day cleanse and I always feel so amazing when I do.

As long as you are happy and healthy, that's all that matters.

Good luck
Denyse

I feel better because I feel lighter not only from losing weight but from not being full of food and chemicals. I still feel hungry. It's my third week. I do sleep well and wake up refreshed. I also have to chew gum a lot, especially on milk days because the taste in my mouth gets so bad from not eating. Still sticking with it...

The first 30 days is the hardest part. Try having yogurt on milk days....it's more filling. That helps me :)
